About Us

We are the Bears, Chicagoland's premier wheelchair rugby team. Founded in the early 2000s we have been competing at a high level for more than 20 years. Made up of individuals from all backgrounds, walks of life, and levels of function, we offer both recreational and competitive opportunities for local athletes. We compete in the USWRA's Great Lakes division along with Midwest based teams, and travel around the country to play with the best of the best. Our mission is to expose and promote adaptive sports and provide a foundation on which to grow both as an athlete and a person.
